A progressive water workout programme will also provide great physiological changes: metabolism will increase and thus cardio vascular function. The resting heart rate can reduce, while maximum oxygen consumption and anaerobic threshold can increase.
Exercising in water is particularly beneficial to those with injuries or medical problems. For instance, athletes recovering from injury can continue training to maintain their cardio vascular fitness without risk of impact injury, while those with arthritis for example, can use the support provided by the water to increase flexibility.
One of the main reasons sited for starting a fitness programme is to lose weight and here Water Fitness really comes into its own.

What are the benefits of Water Fitness?
Water is a fantastic medium to work in from both a physical and psychological point of view.
The resistance of the water means muscles have to work harder than on land to create movement and the different types of resistance give a more balanced muscular workout. Progressions in exercises can increase the intensity.

One particular benefit mentioned time and again by participants is the lack of sweating, which is particularly attractive to those new to exercise who really hate the idea of sweating their way through a workout.

What is Water Fitness?
Water Fitness is a “total body workout”  using the resistance of the water to burn fat and tone the body faster, as the body  exercises in the water, the body remains cool.. The flexibility of Water Fitness is that all ages and fitness levels can work in one class, and work at their own level.  The instructor giving the exercise progressions.  You can work with or with out specialised aqua resistance equipment, depending on your level of fitness and choice.  The only person who can see what level your working at is the instructor!!

What is the difference between exercising on land and in water?
Unlike exercising on land, exercising in water is one of the few fitness programmes that can be undertaken by anyone regardless of weight, height, build, size, gender or age.

The buoyancy of the water means the impact stress and pounding on the body experienced during land-based exercises is virtually removed - which is particularly useful for those suffering from injuries to hips, knees and spine.

Exercising in water also allows the participant to use every muscle and every joint at the same time with  very little risk of injury.

Training with Water Fitness Limited is both fun and informative. Our courses are Reps and FIA affiliated
